Asphalt 8: Airborne • The Return of Motorbikes
I created the announcement trailer for a highly anticipated update to Asphalt 8: Airborne: the return of motorbikes. The August 2017 update reintroduced two-wheeled vehicles to the franchise for the first time since Asphalt 6, and my trailer was the centerpiece of the launch campaign.
I originated a "mystery reveal" concept for the video. Instead of showing the whole bike from the start, the trailer focuses on macro shots and detailed "glory shots" of the engine and mechanical parts being assembled. This approach builds suspense and showcases the intricate anatomy of the bike before its final, dramatic reveal. The featured hero vehicle was a Suzuki GSX-R750, and I utilized a detailed CAD model to achieve the high level of visual fidelity required for the close-ups.
The entire project was developed and animated in Cinema 4D, with final rendering completed in Octane. I constructed the futuristic, industrial environment by kitbashing various stock 3D elements and modeling hardware and set pieces. Tamara Konstanchenko animated the robotic arms that assemble the bike. The final trailer played a crucial role in announcing the "Two-Wheel Takeover" update, which also introduced the new "MOTO BLITZ" career mode and featured additional bikes, including the Ducati Monster 1200 and the KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
