Fall Out Boy
MANIA Album Collaboration
I directed and produced the music video for a major collaboration between Asphalt 8 and the Grammy-nominated rock band, Fall Out Boy. The partnership was a cross-promotional event for their new album MANIA and featured the track "Young and Menace." This was a mind-blowing experience, as the band's desire for an edgier, glitchier aesthetic for their album aligned perfectly with a creative style I was eager to explore.
The concept was to create a visual mayhem that mirrored the stumbling, distorted beat of the song. I designed a series of compositions that featured glitch effects and surreal, shapeshifting transformations. The special edition BMW M2, the hero car of the event, was depicted as an explorer navigating through this morphing, unstable world. In this chaotic space, I portrayed the band members as giant, ethereal figures, releasing pulses of sound that rippled through the environment, shattering glass and sending waves across the floors and walls.
The project had an extremely tight deadline, which required close and efficient collaboration. I teamed up with Alexander Reznikov, who helped finalize the remaining shots while maintaining the established style and creative direction perfectly. The result was a unique and edgy music video that became a key asset in the "Fall Out Boy World Tour" in-game event, which launched in February 2018.
