Internal Cinematic Pitch
I led the creative direction and production for the cinematic announcement trailer of Dungeon Hunter: Curse of Heaven, a significant new IP developed by Gameloft Kharkiv. The project was conceived as a bold, dark, and gritty take on the Dungeon Hunter universe, representing a significant tonal shift for Gameloft's marketing portfolio.
This was my first opportunity to direct a whole cinematic team. I originated the concept and coordinated the collaborative efforts of a talented creative duo: Tamara Konstanchenko, who was responsible for character modeling and surfacing, and Oksana Chornovhostenko, who handled all character animation.
My hands-on responsibilities spanned a wide range of the production pipeline. I assembled all scenes, designed the lighting and special effects, and executed the camera animation. To complete the vision, I also managed the final edit and created the whole sound design for the trailer. Our goal was to create a visceral experience with unapologetic action and gore, pushing the boundaries of what had been done previously.
Although the game was ultimately put on hold and the trailer never saw a public release, it was a resounding internal success and a critical milestone for our team. The game's production leadership lauded the result, and the project stands as a testament to our ability to aim high, execute a mature creative vision, and succeed.
